Professor Jesvin Yeo is an award-winning designer, researcher, and academic leader whose work bridges cultural heritage, design innovation, and human well-being. Recognised for her interdisciplinary approach, she integrates visual communication design with cultural preservation, addressing the functional, emotional, and social aspects of everyday life through design. Educated at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (dip), Curtin University (BA), Central Saint Martins (MA), and Nanyang Technological University (PhD), Professor Yeo’s formation bridges Western critical design thinking with Asian cultural scholarship. Her early experience in leading advertising agencies, including Publicis Group and Young & Rubicam, continues to shape a practice that is both strategic and deeply human, where clarity in communication meets conceptual depth. Professor Yeo is the esteemed author of eight books on cultural heritage, including "Forgotten Heritage: Uncovering Singapore's Traditional Chinese Puppets", "Vanishing Crafts", and "Architectural Decorations: Negotiating Symbols Across Time and Place". Her research has been widely published in top-tier international journals and conferences, covering heritage studies, material culture, typography, and design theory. Her creative works have been exhibited internationally at prestigious institutions and museums, including the Basel School of Design, Museum für Kommunikation Berlin, Taiwan Design Museum, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, and Korean Craft Museum. Her excellence in design has been honored with over 80 international accolades, including the Red Dot Award (Communication Design), GOOD DESIGN™ Award, AIGA 50 Books, and iF Communication Design Award.
